As a result, the state has found itself powerless to stop leaderless armies from entangling the Federation in severl unjustifiable conflicts.
If this was the only
Page 7 of 22 §4problem with the New Danzilon Federation, it would not be the major formentor of unrest and instability that it is. The second and arguably far more destructive flaw in the Danzilonan national character is their particularly noxious form of so-called
Page 8 of 22 §4democracy. The Federation's system of elections and seperation of power encourages the rise of demogogues and firebrands. Military pacts are the national pastime of a nation ruled by summer soldiers and self styled soldiers of fortune. These pacts
Page 9 of 22 §4are irresponsible in the extreme and encourage even more unstable states to attempt to resolve disputes by force of arms rather than arbitration. There has hardly been a war where a militia with a name that sounds highly official hasn't dragged the
Page 10 of 22 §4Federation into a misguided war. It is because of this misguided obsession with martial glory that the New Danzilona Federation has yet to actually achieve any military wins without help from more organized and capable allies.
